Spot the difference:
We say: Make up your mind, American Federation of Teachers. Last month, the nation’s second-largest teachers union bragged that its “educators” are “teaching critical race theory” in schools. Yet this week, AFT President Randi Weingarten denied it, even as she also vowed to defend those who teach it.
This story:
We say: Not content with slamming Israel for defending itself against the 4,300 missiles Hamas fired at it this spring, the leftist Nation magazine ludicrously wants readers to think Israel’s military has continued to launch offensives against Gaza despite the cease-fire — yet the article doesn’t cite a single actual attack. Facts just don’t matter.
This tweet:
We say: The left’s war on words broke a record for idiocy with this Washington Post claim that calling food “exotic” is racist, when the term is meant to make dishes appealing. Are foodies supposed to rush to try recipes branded as “familiar” or “boring”?
This quote:
“We must eliminate funding for CBP, ICE and their parent organization, DHS . . . [which] continue to terrorize migrant communities.”
— Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), in a video interview uploaded Wednesday
We say: In typical understated fashion, Tlaib presents the progressive agenda — completely open borders, no law enforcement, no rules of any kind. “Defund” everything. They call themselves Democratic Socialists, but the vision sounds a lot more like anarchists to us.
This headline:
We say: The Times has it backward. President Biden’s policies, and those of fellow Democrats, threaten the economy and gas prices, not the other way around. Their $1.9 trillion “stimulus” this year juiced already pent-up demand, yet Biden would spend trillions more. And their $300 weekly jobless bonus has kept workers home, pushing up wages and holding back supply. Add, too, the prez’s opposition to oil production (canceling the Keystone pipeline, banning oil leases on public land, etc.), which is plainly pushing prices up.
