Drunk pair who raided Xi’an Famous Foods have to apologize on video

A pair of drunk noodle-heads who raided a Big Apple Chinese restaurant for a midnight snack will have to apologize on video if they want to be forgiven, the restaurant said Tuesday.

The two chowhounds, who sneaked into a Xi-an Famous Foods outlet around 12:30 a.m. Sunday to try to cook up some dumplings, did apologize and “provided compensation” for the stunt, the company said on Facebook.

But that’s not good enough, the post said.

The intruders, who were caught on surveillance video during their six-minute jaunt through the kitchen, will have to go in front of the camera again if they truly want to make amends.

“I urge them to make their video apologies public ASAP to show their sincerity, as this situation is more about privilege in society,” the company wrote in the Facebook post.

“When we receive such videos, we will post it to replace this post to provide closure,” it said. “Until then, this post will remain in order to be a placeholder to inform people of this development and other development(s).”

The earlier Facebook post linked to a YouTube video of the unidentified women.

The restaurant said a power outage disabled an electronic lock that allowed the two women to get inside in their failed attempt to make the dumplings.

The post does not say how much in compensation the restaurant was owed.
