Gunman fatally shoots man on Citi Bike at point-blank range: shocking video

Chilling video reveals the moment a gunman whips his weapon from a fanny pack and fatally shoots a guy on a Citi Bike at point-blank range in Brooklyn, according to cops.

The clip of Wednesday’s shocking broad-daylight slaying — a suspected gang-related crime — first shows the suspect standing outside a deli talking on the phone around 2:20 p.m.

The footage, released by cops late Thursday, then cuts to victim Pierrot Simeon, 21, rolling up to the store at the corner of Clarkson Avenue and East 53rd Street in East Flatbush on the bike and stopping to apparently speak with the suspect. The gunman then whips out his weapon from the fanny pack slung over his shoulder and opens fire.

Simeon collapses off his bike, and the suspect ditches the gun and runs off, the footage shows.

The video also reveals another man stepping out of the deli holding a wad of cash as the gunman opens fire. The shooter, wearing a black du-rag, gray T-shirt, gray and white basketball shorts and Nike sneakers, bumps into him before bolting — at which time that man goes back into the store.

Simeon, who lived around the corner from the scene, was rushed to the Kings County Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the shooting as gang-related, but it was not clear if the dead man and killer knew each other, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

A source who viewed other video from inside and outside the deli said the pair hadn’t interacted inside except to exchange looks. The shooting victim emerged from the store “like [there was] nothing to fear,” the source said.

Simeon had briefly ridden away before the gunman came out of the store, although the suspect “never stops looking at [him],” the source said.

The video shows Simeon then doubling back on his bicycle to the deli and the pair exchanging words, the source said.

“Then shooter reaches for [a] gun and that’s done… The whole interaction, u-turns and all, lasted 30 seconds,” the source said.

Outside Simeon’s home, a makeshift memorial had been set up on the sidewalk with photos of the 21-year-old with angel wings and the phrase “Rest In Power” printed above his head.

Simeon’s cousin, who did not want to give her name, told The Post on Friday he was “very caring” and great with her kids.

“He said that when my other little one would get older, he’s gonna be here to watch him and make sure he don’t do bad stuff,” she said.

But now, “unfortunately,” he won’t be able to, she said of Simeon.

The slaying comes amid a surge in gun violence across the Big Apple. So far this year through Thursday, 823 shootings have been reported with 961 victims, according to NYPD statistics.

The victim, Pierrot Simeon, was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital Center.

Shooting numbers first started to spike in the city last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, when 667 incidents were reported with 820 victims as of Thursday’s date, according to police.

Back in 2019, 408 shootings were reported with 474 victims by that time in the year.

The past two weeks have been marred by a troublesome string of shootings also in The Bronx, during which three teens were killed.

A borough cop has said The Bronx incidents are part of a “major gang war” — and top cop Dermot Shea said the violence keeps him up at night.
