Brother of alleged Times Square shooter nabbed for trying to rip off tourists

The brother of the suspected Times Square shooter who wounded a 4-year-old girl and two others in May was arrested Tuesday for allegedly trying to rob a pair of tourists at the Crossroads of the World, law enforcement sources said.

Joshua Muhammad, 30, was busted at about 4:30 p.m. on West 44th Street and Seventh Avenue — the same corner where gunfire broke out two months ago, the sources said.

Farrakhan Muhammad was arraigned for shooting two people in Times Square.

The CD peddler and an accomplice, Jamar Goode, who was also arrested, allegedly tried to rip off a couple visiting from North Carolina, according to the sources.

The tourists, feeling intimidated by the suspects, first gave Goode $10 before Muhammed came over and demanded $20, sources said.

One of the frightened tourists complied, handing over the extra money, sources said.

Soon after, the suspects were arrested. They were being held at the Midtown Precinct South.

Sources said that Muhammad’s brother is Farrakhan Muhammad, who has been charged with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon, in connection with the horrifying May 8 shooting.

Farrakhan, 31, allegedly fled to Florida after the bloodshed, where he was arrested on May 12. He was extradited to New York later that month.

He has denied responsibility for the shooting.
