McDonald’s to require masks for customers, staff in high transmission areas
McDonald’s is requiring all customers and staff to wear masks again in US locations with high or substantial COVID-19 transmission, the company said Monday.
The mask mandate comes nearly a week after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention changed their coronavirus guidance with a new recommendation that fully vaccinated people wear masks indoors in areas where the Delta variant is surging.
The updated McDonald’s policy applies to people who are fully vaccinated.
Since the CDC’s guidance update many other major US companies have also tweaked their own coronavirus-related directives.
Last week, Apple reinstated its mask policy for customers and employees alike at roughly half of its US stores, USA Today reported.
Netflix, Google, Facebook, Twitter and Uber are among some of the other companies that have adopted some form of vaccine mandate as cases continue to increase across the nation.
