A man was fighting for his life after being stabbed in the chest with a kitchen knife on the Lower East Side, police and sources said.
The bloodshed occurred shortly after noon Saturday, outside 204 Forsyth St., an NYPD spokeswoman said, adding cops are looking for at least one man in his late 20s who is bald and wearing a green shirt. No other details were available.
“It was painful to watch. He [the victim] was flopping around after being stabbed in the chest and he ended up on his back,” one witness told The Post.
The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police sources said.
Police sources said there may have been some kind of dispute and that the assailant plunged a kitchen knife into the victim’s chest. The victim’s sneakers, wallet and his medical mask were among the items spotted at the bloody crime scene.
The eight-story, 11-unit boutique condominium at 204 Forsyth was built in 2016 and unit prices start from $2.3 million, according to The Post and StreetEasy.
