There are one million reasons why Damian Lillard won’t be on the Lakers next season.
They just traded for Russell Westbrook, are without their 2022 and 2024 first-round picks because of the Anthony Davis trade and neither Lillard nor the Trail Blazers have given any signs that they’re moving toward a breakup.
Nonetheless, one NBA fan wrote on Twitter that he thinks Lillard, 31, will be on the Lakers by the start of next season. With three words, Lillard shot down the user’s claim in a dramatic fashion.
Hey, people can dream – even though Westbrook, Davis and LeBron James will make a combined $120.75 million next season.
Lillard is a star, who averaged 28.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game last season for the Trail Blazers while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from three.
The Oakland, Calif. native would turn the Lakers into instant NBA Finals’ favorites. However, Lillard is willing to “bet a million” that will not be happening.
