She’s exacting revenge after her firing.
Just months after getting canned from “The Mandalorian,” Gina Carano is making her return to the small screen — by producing and starring in a revenge flick to be released by the Daily Wire. The “Deadpool” actress previously hinted at a cinematic collaboration back in February, but hadn’t divulged the details until now.
“I’m completely ignited to be creating this thriller,” the 39-year-old former cage fighter told Deadline of the ambitious new project.
The yet-to-be-titled action film will feature Carano as a strong-willed woman looking to hunt down the serial killer trucker who tried to murder her.
And if that plot line sounds familiar, it’s likely because it was the brainchild of Eric Red, who wrote 1986’s “The Hitcher,” another over-the-road thriller about a murderous hitchhiker in Texas. The “Near Dark” scribe adapted this latest script from his novel “White Knuckle,” Deadline reported.
However, Carano claims that her upcoming on-screen venture has a smorgasbord of influences, including “Duel,” “Breakdown” and “True Grit.”
Along with Carano, the flick will be produced by Dallas Sonnier (“Bone Tomahawk”) and Amanda Presmyk (“Dragged Across Concrete”) of Bonfire Legend, and former “Fangoria” editor Tony Timpone.
Production on the “White Knuckle” thriller will begin in Tennessee, Utah and Montana starting in October, while the theatrical debut is slated for sometime in 2022. The Daily Wire will reportedly release the film in the US exclusively to its subscribers with plans to make it available internationally as well.

The film is one of several movies in the works from the right-wing rag, which aims to make inroads into a film industry they perceive as dominated by “woke” politics. In 2020, the DW made their cinematic debut with “Run Hide Fight,” a thriller about a high school student trying to save herself and her classmates during an active shooter situation.
The latest film marks Carano’s first on-screen appearance since she was fired from the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” for a controversial Instagram post, which compared the treatment of modern-day Republicans to that of Jews in Nazi Germany.
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children,” the MMA pioneer wrote. “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews.”
Carano added, “How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
Despite her exile from Tinseltown, Carano insisted, “I am exactly where I want and need to be at this moment in my life; it feels as if I have wings.”
