Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer, in a new court filing, suggested the woman accusing him of sexual assault edited photos of herself following the incident to make her injuries appear worse than they were.
Bauer’s legal team also claimed that messages between the accuser and her counsel show she hoped Bauer would “offer me major cash then make me sign an nda” in a settlement, according to the court documents, which were obtained by TMZ.
The reigning NL Cy Young winner has been on an extended paid administrative leave from the Dodgers since July 2, after the woman accused him of committing several nonconsensual sex acts that left her with black eyes, bruises and other injuries.
Bauer has denied the allegations and his attorney said the two sexual encounters between the MLB player and the accuser were consensual.
Photos of the 27-year-old accuser that leaked in July “appear to be edited or filtered in a manner to give a misleading or false impression of her injuries,” according to Bauer’s attorneys.
“No settlements or cash offers have or ever will be made,” his team says.
The sexual assault allegations were made public in late June — shortly after she requested a restraining order against Bauer.
The court order, reviewed by The Post, was initially enforced on June 28.
“[Bauer’s accuser] has taken a proceeding designed to prevent future acts of ‘domestic violence,’ and turned it into a tool for attracting media attention and attempting to end [Bauer’s] baseball career.”
MLB’s investigation into the allegations is ongoing, and the Pasadena Police Department is conducting its own investigation. The restraining order case against Bauer will begin in Los Angeles on Monday, TMZ reported.
Bauer is in the first year of a three-year, $102 million contract with the Dodgers.
