Cafe sparks outrage for featuring ‘Peppa Pig’ to advertise bacon sandwich

Naughty!

Vegan and meat-loving parents alike are outraged over a Scottish cafe using an image of Peppa Pig to peddle a bacon sandwich.

The chalk-drawn sign at Gordon Street Cafe in downtown Edinburgh shows the beloved kids’ TV character, a plus sign and a piece of bread, EdinburghLive reported — implying the anthropomorphic British cartoon character is on the menu.

Meat-averse internet commentators were unimpressed, as were carnivorous parents concerned about ruining the long-running cartoon for their young children.

“Even if you are not vegan or vegetarian that could be really upsetting,” one local parent told EdinburghLive. “My kids would be absolutely traumatized if they saw that sign, it’s really not funny.”

“So insensitive,” wrote on online commenter.

“That’s going to make a lot of children question food. I support that but damn this is pretty sick,” another shared.
