The Yankees might still be on the outside looking in for a playoff spot, but they are certainly performing like a team that should be playing October baseball. The Yanks won another series over the weekend against a great team, taking two of three from the White Sox. Their only loss to the White Sox this season came in Iowa in the “Field of Dreams” Game. After a makeup game with the Angels on Monday, another crucial series is ahead for the Bronx Bombers … three games in two days against the rival Red Sox.
To look ahead to those big games and look back at the weekend in Chicago, we bring you a new episode of the “Pinstripe Pod” with Chris Shearn and Jeff Nelson, featuring a hilarious interview with comedian and Yankees fan, Vic DiBitetto.
Pinstripe Pod Opening Segment with Chris, Jeff & Jake:
- ZACK BRITTON: Nellie wishes Zack Britton’s comments on not wanting to be closer/not deserving to be in save situations stayed in house. This never happened in his era. Is the bullpen the Yankees biggest issue right now?
- SERIES WIN/RED SOX: Yankees keep on beating good teams and taking down the White Sox was big. Don’t understand Gerrit Cole pitching against Angels and not the Red Sox. Important series for the Yankees against a Boston team that has had their number all year. Lots of scoreboard watching the final six weeks of the season in the stretch run.
