The MTV Video Music Awards just announced its first round of performers and it’s bound to be a rockin’ party! A slew of amazing musicians is set to hit Brooklyn’s Barclays Center Sept. 12.
Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello, Lorde, Machine Gun Kelly and Olivia Rodrigo will sing their hearts out on live TV.
Cabello will send hearts racing with a hot performance of her song “Don’t Go Yet,” following her steamy 2019 “Senorita” performance with now-boyfriend Shawn Mendes.
Lorde is coming back to the VMAs, breaking a four-year-hiatus, to sing a tune from her critically-acclaimed new record “Solar Power,” dropping Friday. Rodrigo is a first-time performer and nominee who is up for five awards, including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.
MGK will also make his VMAs debut and will premiere his new single “papercuts” from his upcoming album “Born With Horns.” He won the Moonperson at the VMAs last year.
Lil Nas X is nominated for the Video of the Year and last hit the stage in 2019 for a performance of “Panini.”
Nominations for this year’s show were made Aug. 11 with Justin Bieber and Megan Thee Stallion leading the noms. The show will feature an out-of-this-world redesigned Moonperson statue.
This year’s ceremony will also honor the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by working with the nonprofit 9/11 Day on a series of events to promote awareness around the day’s upcoming 20th anniversary.
