Graham says Biden ‘needs to go’ if US and Afghan allies left for Taliban ‘slaughter’
Sen. Lindsey Graham on Friday called for President Biden to be impeached if he fails to rescue every American and Afghan ally from the clutches of the Taliban.
“We’re duty-bound to get every American citizen out. We’re honor-bound to get those Afghans who fought along our side out,” the South Carolina Republican told “Fox & Friends.”
“If we leave one American behind, if we don’t get all those Afghans who stepped up to the plate and helped us out, then Joe Biden in my view has committed a high crime and misdemeanor under the Constitution, and should be impeached,” he insisted.
“Because if we leave them behind, they’re going to get slaughtered,” he insisted.
“Joe needs to go if he does this,” he said, calling the disastrous response “a stain on our honor.”
The leading senator said US failings were especially evident given that “the French and the British are willing to send their forces inside of Afghanistan to extract the people who helped them and their citizens.”
He called Biden a “wrecking ball” on foreign policy, insisting he was repeatedly warned that it was essential to keep a residual force of troops in the area as “an insurance policy against another 9/11.”
“And Joe Biden canceled that insurance policy against sound military advice,” Graham said. “Quite frankly, he’s made another 9/11 tenfold more likely by withdrawing everybody,” he warned.
