The Issue: Mayor de Blasio’s response to an attacker who assaulted a man with a hatchet at an ATM.
How much destruction of our city can this pathetic excuse of a mayor cause until someone impeaches him to get him out of office (“Heartless,” Aug. 19)?
Isn’t it enough that, under his administration, crime is off the charts and the tourist industry, which employs so many people and is a big source of revenue, is in tatters?
What tourist wants to come to New York City and fear that he or she will be shot at, assaulted or pushed onto a subway track?
I am quite sure we can get millions of signatures on a petition to throw this bum out — and now.

I cannot believe the mayor feels that mentally ill citizens of New York City are not violent.
The only conclusion I can come to is that he doesn’t watch TV, listen to the radio or read New York’s favorite newspaper.
He and his wife have squandered millions of dollars on programs that do not work and will not work. The latest being “Mental Health for All.”
This is one of the reasons why other city agencies have had their budgets cut to the bone. Thank God he only has four more months to ruin our city, but he can still do a lot of damage.

I found The Post’s cover photos on Aug. 18 and Aug. 19 so brutal that I wish you had not put them on the front page for two days. It is just too horrific.
I also hope that the innocent victim’s medical bills can be paid through a fund.
I want this victim to be reminded that there are millions of people who support his recovery and don’t want him destroyed, not just with PTSD but with the medical bills he most likely cannot pay.
Mayor de Blasio should be removed from office today. He is a menace to the city. Anyone he appointed should also be removed.
Please help stop voting for Democrats, which is destroying your lives, your city, your businesses, your safety, your freedom, your future and your children’s futures.

It was disgusting seeing de Blasio’s smiling face on the front page of Thursday’s Post. It made me sick.
He is a man who just does not care about all the violence and assaults that have been happening in our city.
The latest was a terrible and heartless attack at an ATM by a man with a hatchet.
De Blasio says that it’s very rare for the mentally ill to do this. Mentally ill or not, it’s an attack.
I would like to know what happened to the program headed by de Blasio’s wife, Chirlane McCray, called ThriveNYC.
Wasn’t that supposed to help the mentally ill? Maybe they just ran out of money.
De Blasio, you have been a terrible mayor and have not helped the people of the city like you’re supposed to. Your term couldn’t come to an end fast enough, and yet now you have the nerve to think about running for governor.
All I can say to that is: God help us all. We had enough of you, de Blasio.

The man who was viciously attacked at a bank ATM by a hatchet wielder is another victim of the continued spiral in violence on the city’s streets.
To do its job, our NYPD needs full support from our dopey mayor and our not-so-swift-to-take-action City Council right now.
Re-fund the NYPD, so our dedicated and hardworking policemen and women can do their jobs more effectively in getting dangerous criminals off the streets of the city.
We hope that the man who was attacked will make a speedy recovery.

Just be grateful for the little things that make living in New York so wonderful and rewarding.
At least the savage who was trying to carve up the unsuspecting ATM customer with a hatchet was wearing a mask.
