As training camp nears a close, so could Deshaun Watson’s time as a Texan.
The Miami Dolphins have emerged as the front-runner to land the disgruntled Pro Bowl quarterback, Yahoo Sports reported Saturday.
The Panthers, Broncos and Eagles have also been monitoring the situation.
Houston hasn’t backed off from their lofty demands of three first-round picks and two second-round picks for Watson, who has sought a trade for months — even before he was accused by multiple massage therapists of sexual misconduct.
Carolina apparently is waiting to see what happens with the 22 ongoing civil lawsuits against Watson alleging sexual misconduct before making a run at the 25-year-old, according to CBS Sports.
The Eagles recently traded for Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew as a likely insurance plan for Jalen Hurts.
Watson is not willing to waive his no-trade clause for a trade to the Eagles, according to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson.
The Dolphins, meanwhile, could use Tua Tagovailoa in a trader package for Watson.
Watson’s situation has been muddied by the sexual assault allegations, which are being investigated by the NFL.
While Watson has practiced with the Texans during training camp, he clearly isn’t in the team’s future plans.
Watson, who signed a four-year, $156 million extension with the Texans in September, has been used as the fourth-string quarterback and hasn’t taken part in team drills.
