35-year-old man shot dead on NYC street
A gunman shot another man dead near a busy intersection in the Bronx on Saturday night, police said.
The 35-year old victim was blasted with two shots in the chest in the vicinity of Fordham Road and Webster Avenue just before 8 p.m., according to the NYPD.
Police made an arrest shortly after the shooting, taking a 36-year-old man into custody and recovering a loaded gun, law enforcement sources said.
The NYPD didn’t confirm the arrest and said the investigation is ongoing.
The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
Ballistics were recovered on scene and police are reportedly canvassing the area for video footage of the crime.
The victim’s identity wasn’t released pending notification of his family.
