Freddie Mitchell said he was “that character” in Walmart — the guy who showed up without pants on.
At least he had an excuse: The former Eagles wide receiver’s home was flooded by Hurricane Ida last week and he had nothing else to wear.
“The local fire department over there actually came, banged on my window and literally it was three stories up banging on my window with a rescue boat saying you need to get out,” Mitchell told FOX29 Philadelphia. “You need to evacuate ASAP. It was the most craziest I ever experience … My house being flooded. It was crazy.”
The rescuers took him from his Montgomery County, Pa., home and dropped him off at Walmart.
There, he filmed himself buying clothes.
“I was literally that character in Walmart,” Mitchell said.
Mitchell, 42, spent four seasons with the Eagles from 2001-04. He caught five touchdowns in 63 career games.
