Majority of vaccinated Americans willing to get COVID-19 booster shot: poll

The majority of vaccinated Americans are willing to get a COVID-19 booster shot, a new poll says.

Of the people who have received a COVID-19 vaccine, 77 percent have no problem with recommendations for getting a booster shot, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll.

About 64 percent of Americans say they are still concerned about the threat of COVID-19 and 37 percent are “very concerned,” the poll found.

Eleven percent of those polled say they aren’t concerned about COVID-19 anymore.

The poll surveyed 1,000 adults in the United States online and via phone between Aug. 30 and 31.

The FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have so far only given the green light for booster shots for immunocompromised people who received either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

The plan to start offering booster shots to adults who received their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least eight months ago is still pending FDA approval.

The US has administered nearly 375 million vaccine doses.
