Marlon Wayans shares video of ‘last embrace’ with Michael K. Williams
Marlon Wayans has shared a moving tribute to his close bond with Michael K. Williams — footage of their long “last embrace” less than a month before “The Wire” star’s death.
The clip Wayans shared to Instagram Tuesday — a day after The Post first reported Williams’ death in Brooklyn — showed him leaning in to give his actor pal a big hug on a red carpet in Los Angeles.
The pair remained clutched together for several seconds, sharing quietly spoken words — with Williams, wearing a bright green suit, nodding respectfully at Wayans as they finally parted.
It was from Aug. 8 — just under a month before Williams died of a suspected overdose.
“My last embrace … love you my bro,” he wrote, tagging the late star’s account and adding the hashtag #gonetoosoon.
Wayans also recalled the moment in an earlier tribute, sharing that Williams had “grabbed me by the neck, hugged me and said ‘beautiful work brother,'” on the red carpet of the Aretha Franklin biopic, “Respect.”
“That meant so much from you,” he said of the iconic actor.
“I love you bro. So f—ing talented, an amazing human and a gracious soul… rest well bro,” he wrote.
Williams had also shared an image from the night, in which he wore a green peacock-feather patterned suit.
“Don’t walk, run #RESPECT!!! @iamjhud is a beast and my brother @marlonwayans did his damn thing,” he said of his pal, who plays Franklin’s ex-husband Ted White in the soul legend’s biopic.
Hudson — who was handpicked by Franklin to play her — also shared an image of a happy-looking Williams from the night in a tribute.
“Gone too soon! Only 54 years old. Rest In Peace,” she wrote.
