Megan Fox on Machine Gun Kelly’s ‘insane’ style: ‘I’m heavily influenced’
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are a match made in Hollywood.
And with MGK set to perform at the 2021 MTV VMAs Sunday, the pair will surely bring their signature coordinating-couple’s style to the often-over-the-top red carpet.
But while the “Bloody Valentine” singer is pouring his heart out onstage, you might want to take a peek at his pores.
“When we first started dating, you would think that he, like, just rolls out of bed like he slept in a pile of cigarettes and goes to work just like that,” Fox told The Post’s Alexa of her beau’s skin care routine.
On the contrary, a glimpse at the musician’s bathroom counter revealed that he has a “crazy skin care game” thanks to “thousands of dollars’ worth” of products.
“He actually puts a ton of effort into that face,” revealed Fox, who is “really into” skin care herself.
Although the “Transformers” actress has still given her beau beauty tips in other areas – “Don’t do illegal substances, stuff like that” – MGK’s expertise doesn’t end at skin care: He’s also the mastermind behind their date night style.
“I’m heavily influenced by whatever he pulls out of his closet,” Fox admitted, adding that Kelly is “always wearing something insane.”
Regardless of what the star selects, the couple frequently nail it with their in-sync style – a trend that all started with a manicure.
“We went on a trip to Palm Springs when we were first dating, and he brought me over to the house and was like, ‘Let’s get matching manicures,’” Fox said. “Then it sort of stuck ever since.”
Over a year later, the “twin flames” — who met while shooting the film “Midnight in the Switchgrass” in March 2020 — are blazing a new trail for celebrity couples’ style with their coordinated clothes and matching manis.
At the Billboard Music Awards in May, the rocker set tongues wagging when he even painted his tongue black to coordinate with Fox’s barely-there Mugler dress. A week later, he was the Ken to Fox’s Barbie at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, pairing the pink detailing on his razor-sharp nails with her skintight satin look.
“We were just wanting to go together, kind of … then people decided we were matching,” Fox said of their string of similar styles, adding, “It wasn’t necessarily a planned thing … That’s just how it flowed.”
Planned or not, the PDA pros double down on their double-take-worthy style off the red carpet too, whether donning PVC trench coats or stepping out in identical sweats. Even when they’re not dressed in complementary colors, they pick pieces from the same designer instead, like when they both wore Dolce & Gabbana in Vegas.
And while Fox has never been one to shy away from, well, foxy styles herself, she previously revealed that Kelly has helped her up her fashion game. She said she ditched “yoga gear” after their romance began, instead mirroring Kelly’s perpetually stage-ready style with looks including a boob-baring rhinestone top, a barely buttoned sweater and a series of bra-turned-shirt looks.
Perhaps MGK dreamed about sharing styles with Fox back when he had a poster of her hanging in his teenage bedroom.
After all, as Fox surmised, their style just might be a teen fantasy come to life.
“I haven’t seen two grown adult people match their outfits this way,” she said. “Maybe it’s like something you think about [in] high school or middle school even.”
“There’s a fun element that maybe people have been missing,” the star continued. “You know, we’re not too serious.”
