A 15-year-old boy was killed and another injured in a shooting over the weekend at a haunted hayride in the Pittsburgh area, police said.
The gunfire broke out following an argument between a group of teens Saturday night on the Haunted Hills Hayride in North Versailles, news station KDKA reported.
“We heard the gunshots and somebody came running past us and didn’t tell us anything [We heard] about four or five [gunshots], and they evacuated us,” employee Pipper Donaldson told the outlet.
The teen who was killed was pronounced dead at a local hospital, while the surviving victim was taken in critical condition for treatment, police said. Their identities haven’t been released.
“What goes through my mind when a 15-year-old gets shot at a hayride … I think it’s a terrible shame,” Allegheny County Police Lt. Vernando Costa said. “You come to an area where you are going to have fun and it’s, innocent people were around anybody could have been hurt. People not involved.”
Police are looking for teenage shooter, around the age of 15 to 17, who fled from the scene while wearing dark blue cargo shorts and a blue backpack, KDKA reported.
