Andrew Cuomo spotted fishing with his dog, the one friend that can’t leave

Oh, now he’s your friend, Andy!

Disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo revealed Tuesday what he’s been doing while in hiding from his sexual harassment scandal — hanging out with one of the few pals he still has left.

Cuomo made his first public appearance in weeks on his Instagram account, where he posted photos of himself and his dog Captain on a small boat.

“The fall bass run is coming & Captain is ready,” Cuomo wrote in a caption.

The pictures show Cuomo, 63, with a scraggly beard as he and the Siberian Husky mix gazed into each other’s eyes and nuzzled.

The photos were taken within the past several days in waters off Long Island, a source told The Post.

Cuomo’s show of affection toward his pooch followed a report that he tried to abandon Captain at the Executive Mansion in Albany after he moved out in the wake of his humiliating, Aug. 10 resignation.

Cuomo even asked his staffers if anyone would adopt his pet, with one briefly accepting before deciding the hulking, high-strung bundle of fur was too much to handle, the Albany Times Union said.

The disgraced former governor hasn't been seen in public since shortly after announcing his resignation.

Cuomo angrily denied that report, tweeting that “Captain and I are a man and his dog.”

Online reaction to Tuesday’s photos included references to the allegation that Cuomo molested a much-younger female staffer, Brittany Commisso, inside his Executive Mansion office last year.

“will you be groping this bass too?” wrote Instagram user @hammstringzzz1002.

Another commenter, @marlene.om1953, noted, “Sweet, that’s one you won’t get in trouble for grabbing.”

Commisso’s accusations against Cuomo are the subject of a criminal investigation in Albany, and prosecutors in at least four other jurisdictions are probing incidents described in a report released by Attorney General Letitia James.

Until Tuesday, Cuomo hadn’t been seen in public for more than a month, since he held an Aug. 22 briefing on Tropical Storm Henri just over a day before he left office.

Last month, The Post exclusively revealed that his belongings were trucked from the Executive Mansion in Albany to the Westchester County home of his sister, Maria Cole, and her hubby, famed shoe designer Kenneth Cole.

Sources later said he was believed to be holed up in the Southampton home of his longtime pal Jeffrey Sachs, a health care consultant who also let Cuomo crash at his United Nations Plaza apartment after the-then governor split from his wife, Kerry Kennedy.

In an email Tuesday afternoon, Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi insisted the former governor and his dog were inseparable.

“Captain is part of the governor’s family, remains with him, and those reports he was trying to give him away were just not true,” Azzopardi said.”

Someone offered to watch him for a few days while the transition was happening and it somehow morphed into a silly political firestorm.”
