Eminem opens Detroit restaurant — and the name is exactly what you’d expect

Eminem may be an Oscar- and Grammy-winning rapper, actor and producer. But now the Detroit native can add a new title to his repertoire: restaurant owner.

Slim Shady, 48, will open his new Italian eatery, called Mom’s Spaghetti, in his hometown on Wednesday.

And, yes, you read that right: The name Mom’s Spaghetti comes straight from his 2002 single “Lose Yourself,” featured in the film “8 Mile.”

“His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy,” Eminem raps in the song. “There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.”

Mom’s Spaghetti first came into the world as a pop-up shop at Detroit music venue The Shelter in 2017 while Eminem was promoting his album “Revival.”

“We’ve had a lot of fun putting this project together with the folks at Union Joints, and the response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive,” Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg, explained in a statement. “The previous pop-ups were really a test for us to determine whether there was enthusiasm for a regularly-occurring Mom’s Spaghetti spot that would be open all year long.”

The new hotspot, taking up residence at 2131 Woodward Ave. in the Motor City, will have limited seating and fans can place their orders at the place’s walk-up window.

Among the offerings are the namesake Mom’s Spaghetti for $9, Mom’s Spaghetti with Meatballs for $12 and the ‘Sgetti Sandwich — pasta smushed between two slices of bread — for $11. Yum.

“Mom’s Spaghetti — it’s all ready,” the restaurant proclaims in a promo video

The Mom’s Spaghetti menu is all about pasta and fixings.

Customers can also head upstairs from the eatery and hit up The Trailer, a store for Eminem fans that features merchandise and memorabilia while nodding to his “8 Mile” character, B-Rabbit.

In April 2020, the “Stan” singer gave Detroit healthcare workers fighting the coronavirus in hospitals containers of his famous pasta.
