My hard-to-manage, naturally curly and oftentimes frizzy hair texture makes me a stylist’s dream client.
Which also means more trips to the salon.
Which then means more money spent on smooth and silky blowouts.
While I’ve tested more than 20 products for curly hair to embrace my natural, coiled look, nothing beats a bouncy curl and a Victoria’s Secret Angel-inspired look. Plus, with a good pair of hair extensions, you’ll have dreamy, long locks.
I’ve been using my CHI Air Classic 2 Ceramic Hair Dryer for years and, while I adore it, it’s not the most heat-conscious product to maintain the integrity of my ends. So, when T3 announced its recent launch of the Airebrush Duo, I knew it was one to try.
And, as a proud owner of both T3’s Twirl Trio and Whirl Trio, I can attest the brand knows what it’s doing.
“We’ve seen the blow-dryer brush industry blow up as consumers have embraced home styling and blowouts in particular,” Karolina Bakalarova, T3’s vice president of marketing, told The Post. “This trend has only been accelerated by the pandemic when they were forced to improve at-home beauty techniques.”
And she couldn’t have hit the bullseye any closer. We recently tried out Revlon’s bestselling blow-dryer brush — a more affordable option — but there are certain features unique to T3’s new product that render it a must-buy.
T3 Airebrush Duo, $179.99
“With the T3 Airebrush Duo, we set out to deliver a product with real points of difference, from core performance to maximum personalization, which we found limited in this category during research,” Bakalarova added. “We wanted to touch the inability to control heat, frizz reduction and shine maximization, above all else.”
Focusing on those reference points, the interchangeable paddle brush and round brush attachments offer extreme customizability when you’re ready to dry and experiment with your hair post-shower.
“Styling versatility is sought-after by consumers, and the interchangeable design allows for this versatile styling,” Bakalarova said. “You can create a straight and sleek look with the paddle brush or bouncy, voluminous looks with the round brush. And you can mix and match to get creative with it.”
For mixing and matching, she recommended creating a base with the paddle brush and then switching to the round brush for your hair’s ends to create that bend and bounce.
Is the T3 Airebrush Duo worth it?
Absolutely. Whether you have more textured, hard-to-manage hair or simply want to try your hand at being a hairstylist from the comfort of your home, the T3 Airebrush Duo is a carefully designed product that truly is like no other.
For one, it has the brand’s signature IonFlow Technology and a Volume Boost setting on the brush’s handle to create more lift at your roots.
“The IonFlow Technology is especially unique for achieving shiny results, especially for more textured, frizz-prone hair types,” Bakalarova said. “We give consumers to turn off the ion generator to maintain more texture if desired.”
What’s more, this brush came to fruition with a team of engineers, product developers, hairstylists, hair scientists and even a batch of T3 consumers to ensure all features were optimized and all hair types and textures were in focus.
The Pros
The T3 AireBrush Duo provided my hair with the soft foundation it craves. I always thought my $90 hair dryer was enough to just make my hair dry and last for every other day’s washing. But, for double the price, you’re getting a salon-quality blowout.
It’s a no-brainer investment. Plus, it replaces the need for a flat brush, a round brush, a blow dryer and even a flat iron and curling wand, depending on your hair type.
I absolutely love the paddle brush head for drying and styling my bottom layers and my locks that aren’t at the crown of my head. It truly creates a lovely base (and makes my long layers stand out so much more)!
Truth be told, I’m not a fan of round brushes for styling my hair, but the T3 AireBrush Duo made it super easy to style. In fact, it’s great for people like me who always think using a round brush will instantly get stuck in your hair with one wrong move. It’s happened to me before — but never with T3.
The Cons
The price is the only negative aspect of the T3 AireBrush Duo — but you certainly get what you pay for. Plus, the brush is cheaper than 10 salon blowout appointments.
So, really, is there a con? No, but that all depends on your budget and whether you’re ready to invest in hair care once and for all.
The bottom line
The T3 AireBrush Duo is a product recommendation I firmly stand behind. It’s so important to take care of your hair — I learned the hard way with all the times I practically fried my hair with a flat iron in middle school — and T3 makes it so easy to achieve a glam look of your choice.
It’s the best blowout brush, namely for its uniqueness and styling abilities. And it makes a wonderful gift idea — holiday, birthday or otherwise.
