Disturbing details emerge from UFC star Jon Jones’ latest arrest

When UFC star Jon Jones was arrested in Las Vegas early Friday morning, police found his fiancée Jessie Moses with blood on her lip and sweatshirt – and one of the couple’s children asked a Caesars Palace security guard, “Can you call the cops?” according to multiple reports that cited a police report.

Jones, 34, also headbutted the hood of a patrol vehicle during his arrest on charges of domestic battery and damaging a vehicle, per reports. He was released from Clark County jail on $8,000 bail and has a scheduled Oct. 26 court date. The battery charge is a misdemeanor while the vehicle charge is a felony.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion, who appeared to blame the incident on alcohol in an Instagram post, was in Las Vegas for a UFC Hall of Fame induction ceremony, during which his 2013 bout with Alexander Gustafsson was honored. He reportedly threatened to sue the police for arresting him “on the biggest night” of his life.

According to multiple reports, Moses told police Jones returned to his hotel room after a night out with friends and “was not very happy.” Moses told police things got “a little bit” physical and that Jones pulled her hair. When asked about blood on her lip, Moses told cops her lips were dry.

A call to police was made after Moses went to the hotel security desk asking for another room key. Moses reportedly began crying and appeared to be scared to return to the hotel room. That’s when one of the couple’s children asked, “Can you call the cops?”

Moses did not file for a protective order against Jones, according to MMA Fighting.

Jones addressed the arrest Tuesday night with text on an Instagram story over a video of him working out.

“I have way too much trauma to consume alcohol, my brain simply can’t handle it anymore. I will leave alcohol in my past forever,” Jones wrote. “Turn this nightmare into the best thing to ever happen in my life.”

Jones was arrested for DUI in 2012 after crashing a Bentley into a telephone pole in Binghamton. He was arrested again in 2015 after a hit-and-run in New Mexico in which a pregnant woman’s arm was broken, later pleading guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and receiving an 18-month supervised probation sentence. He pleaded no contest to disorderly in 2019 after being accused of unwanted contact by a waitress at an Albuquerque strip club, and he was arrested last year for drunk driving and negligent use of a firearm.

Jones has also twice tested positive for banned substances during his UFC career. He hasn’t fought in the octagon since Feb. 8, 2020.
