Two teens stabbed outside NYC high school
A 14-year-old boy was stabbed in the head during a bloody fight over a girl Thursday afternoon in a fight caught on tape outside a deeply troubled Bronx high school.
Disturbing footage of the confrontation at Harry S. Truman High School in Co-Op City shows two teens tussling before one bows his head and blood splashes onto the concrete as horrified students look on.
School sources said the victim had warned the assailant to stay away from his girlfriend last week and that their feud finally exploded into violence Thursday in broad daylight at roughly 2 p.m.
Sources said the incident was witnessed and responded to by roughly 10 NYPD officers who had been assigned to the school after another bloody brawl just last week.
“Someone is going to get killed here. Soon,” said a school source.
“The brawls and fights are just daily now. This is not fair to these kids.”
The victim was stabbed in the face or neck and a 14-year-old girl — likely the girlfriend — was also injured, sources said.
Both victims were taken to Jacobi Hospital and expected to survive.
The stabber was taken into custody at the scene and charges against him were pending, cops said.
School sources said gang violence was spiraling at Truman and across The Bronx this year.
“People have no idea what’s going on,” another source said. “You have a different gang in every little area around this school, all affiliated with the Bloods and Crips. They’ve been away from school for a long time, we have no idea what disputes have been going on. And now they are all in the same building together.”
The stabbing was the second serious act of violence at the school this month.
At least six people were injured at Truman on Sept. 21 after a teen was stabbed in a car before the driver sped off — hitting pedestrians and another vehicle along the way, police said.
Cops say the violence erupted during an argument between two groups outside the building.
