A 51-year-old man was stabbed to death on the Lower East Side for his bicycle, police said.
The deadly stickup unfolded shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday. Police responded to a 911 call of a robbery at Hester Street, between Forsyth and Chrystie streets, in the vicinity of FDR Park. Cops found the victim slashed in the face and stabbed in the abdomen, police said. EMS transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing, police said Saturday. The identity of victim was being withheld pending family notification.
Cops are probing whether the victim may have been a deliveryman, an NYPD spokesman said, adding, “They took his bike and stabbed him.”
The suspect was described as a man wearing a gray hoodie.
