Intruder breaks into Tennessee home — mom, son hide in bathroom
Video captured the chilling moment a deranged intruder broke into a Tennessee home last week, forcing a terrified young mother to barricade herself and her 2-year-old son in their bathroom.
Keane Winchester said surveillance cameras outside her Lake County home captured the stranger smashing one of her windows while she and her son were in their living room on Oct. 14.
The footage, shared by Winchester on Facebook, showed the screaming man repeatedly trying to break down the back door of her home and punching in a window.
The man then retrieved a log and used it to smash in another window before brazenly climbing into the home.
Winchester told local outlet WWJB she quickly grabbed her toddler and fled upstairs when the intruder started breaking the windows.
“I heard a very loud bang and it just wasn’t a normal bang, and then all of the sudden he started screaming ‘Help, help,’” Winchester said.
“Once I realized he was in my house screaming, I barricaded the bathroom door and had my baby there trying to get him to just be calm and relax while I was calling the cops.
“I was shaken. I wasn’t crying just yet. I was just breathing very hard shaking, begging the dispatcher to please get his cops here please.”
Police arrived within 10 minutes and were able to arrest the man, whose identity hasn’t been publicly released.
Winchester said she had no idea who the man was or why he broke into her home.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office didn’t immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
