Brian Laundrie’s parents dodge key questions on one-month anniversary of Gabby Petito discovery

On the one-month anniversary of the discovery of Gabby Petito’s remains, the parents of her fugitive boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, reportedly spent the day running errands — and dodging questions about what happened when their son returned to Florida without her.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie, whose North Port home has been the site of protests and a large media contingent, spent about an hour Tuesday shopping at a local Walmart, where they picked up various items, including water and an air filter, Fox News reported.

The couple, who ignored reporters’ questions, later spent almost a half-hour at a bank and then dropped off a box at a FedEx store, where they also declined to respond to questions about whether they found it suspicious that their 23-year-old son arrived in Petito’s van on Sept. 1 without her.

The Laundries then drove on Interstate 75 to an AT&T store in Sarasota, where they spent about 30 minutes before once again refusing to answer questions.

The family’s attorney, Steve Bertolino, declined to comment to Fox News about their visit to AT&T. The couple had bought Brian a phone from the company after he returned to the Sunshine State and before his girlfriend’s mom reported her missing.

Brian reportedly left the phone at his parents’ home before he told them he was going on a hike at the 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve from which he never returned.

Authorities have been on the hunt since Sept. 18 for the fugitive, who is wanted on a federal arrest warrant for allegedly using Petito’s stolen bank card after she disappeared. Her remains were found in a Wyoming park on Sept. 19. He is a person of interest in her homicide.
