Trevor Lawrence and wife Marissa had plenty to smile about on Sunday afternoon.
Following the Jaguars’ stunning victory over the Buffalo Bills, 9-6, Marissa took to Instagram to share a few game-day highlights from Jacksonville, including a cozy snap with the 22-year-old rookie quarterback.
“A JAGS WIN 💙 I love this city & this team (especially 16),” Marissa captioned her collection of Instagram photos.
In a separate Instagram Story, Marissa gushed over Lawrence, who completed 15 out of 26 pass attempts for 118 yards. He also left Sunday’s game briefly due to an ankle injury but returned prior to halftime.
“@tlawrence you’re amazing,” Marissa wrote on her Story. “Words will never be enough.”
Sunday’s win over the Bills also marked the Jaguars’ second victory of the season. Jacksonville had previously defeated the Miami Dolphins in Week 6, 23-20.
Lawrence, the first-overall pick in this year’s NFL draft, also praised his teammates after Sunday’s win, calling it, “one of the best defensive performances [he’s] seen,” according to ESPN.
With the Jaguars set to face the Indianapolis Colts next week, Lawrence said that he’s going to take the ankle injury day by day.
“Scanned it. Nothing concerning there. See how it feels tomorrow and the rest of the week. I’m sure it’s going to be sore. We’ll see. Just get a bunch of treatment and try to get back healthy,” Lawrence said Sunday.
In the meantime, it appears Lawrence and Marissa — who tied the knot earlier this year — will be savoring every moment of their victory Monday.
