Fashion legend JoAnn Berman lists eclectic Brooklyn home for $1.5M

Fashion and furniture designer JoAnn Berman — whose clients include Madonna, Bette Midler, Cher, Salt-N-Pepa, Puff Daddy, Rihanna, Patricia Field and Betsey Johnson — is listing her Bed-Stuy row house for nearly $1.5 million.

The 3,000-square-foot space, at 301A Hart St., is divided into an owner’s triplex (with four bedrooms and 2 ½ baths) and a two-bedroom, one-bath garden rental.

Berman’s personality shines through in the home’s bright colors, textiles and eclectic touches — including a dusty-rose exterior.

There’s a bright front parlor with 20-foot-tall ceilings along with a modern eat-in kitchen, a large terrace and a garden shaded by mature trees.

Part of the city’s punk rock scene in the ’70s and ’80s, Berman is known for upcycling old clothing and fabric.

By the ’90s, she was part of the hip-hop and rave fashion scenes, with her funky hats carried by Henri Bendel; her work is part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. (She’s now focused on furniture and ceramic creations.)

The listing broker for the exuberant home is Corcoran’s Emma James.
