Jeff Hardy was sent home from WWE’s tour over the weekend after having a “rough night,” according to multiple reports.
In the main event at an un-televised show in Edinburg, Texas, on Saturday night, Hardy was teaming with Drew McIntyre and Xavier Woods against The Bloodline, a team comprised of Roman Reigns and Jimmy and Jey Uso. During the match, Hardy walked out of the ring and into the crowd.
Hardy was followed by security and did not return to celebrate with his teammates after they won the match, which would have been customary had this been following the standard pro wrestling script.
The website PWInsider reported Sunday that Hardy, 44, had been “sent home” from the tour. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful followed up with confirmation that Hardy was sent home by WWE brass, adding that the wrestling veteran was having a “rough night.”
Matt Hardy, who currently works for All Elite Wrestling, provided an update on his brother Jeff during his Twitch stream on Monday, according to Wrestling News.co.
“I did speak to Jeff for a little bit today and he’s OK, he’s good,” Matt Hardy said. “I think he’ll be fine but once again, this isn’t my business and if he wants to go into it in more detail then he’ll do it himself. Jeff is OK. He is at home and he is OK. It’s not my business. It’s not my story to tell or explain and besides that, I wouldn’t be able to do it justice anyway because it’s not from my perspective so I love my brother and I just want my brother to be okay and healthy.”
A WWE spokesperson couldn’t immediately be reached for comment by The Post.
Hardy last posted to his Instagram on Saturday, when he showed off his face paint for the show, as he usually does.
Hardy has had long-documented struggles with addiction.
