Monday night did not go the Bills’ way, but Jordan Poyer was still feeling the love from his favorite fan.
Following Buffalo’s 14-10 loss to New England, the Bills safety, 30, appeared to enjoy a sweet moment with his wife, Rachel Bush, who attended the game at Highmark Stadium.
In an Instagram Story, Bush is seen standing behind Poyer, who then grins at the screen. Though off-camera, it seems Bush may have kissed the top of his head before calling it a night.
Amid a chilly and windy night in Buffalo, the Bills fell to their AFC East rival and are now 7-5. They will face the Patriots again in Foxborough later this month.
Poyer, who is in his fifth season with the Bills, addressed the loss postgame with teammate and fellow safety Micah Hyde, both of whom were less than thrilled with a reporter’s question.
During Monday’s AFC East showdown, the Patriots threw the ball three times and logged 222 rushing yards on 46 carries. Running back Damien Harris scored New England’s lone touchdown in the first quarter.
The secondary duo was asked if they were “embarrassed” by the Patriots’ ability to control the game with their running attack.
“We made stops when we had to. They had one big run. I mean, they’ve got good backs,” Poyer said. “They kept coming back to a couple runs. I mean, I don’t know how you want us to answer that question.”
The Bills will take on the Buccaneers (9-3) on Sunday afternoon in Tampa.
Despite Monday’s loss, the Bills remain in the playoff hunt as they are currently the No. 7 seed in the AFC. The Patriots, however, are No. 1.
