I showed up to my Tinder match’s house for our first date and there were police everywhere

In the run-up to a first date, your friends will probably tell you to keep an eye out for certain red flags: sexist jokes, dirty fingernails, still living with their parents.

But sometimes red flags present themselves in more obvious ways — such as the police camping out outside their home.

Sound too crazy to be true? Well, TikTok user Abby — who posts under @thepennydarling — claims to have found herself in this exact scenario.

Earlier this week, the 29-year-old went viral when she posted a video of herself sitting in her car while police stormed her date’s house.

Illuminated by flashing red lights, Abby took a sip of her drink and genuinely asked followers: “Should I leave?”

She captioned the clip: “Gotta love when the [red flags] are SCREAMING.”

After that clip racked up over 1.3 million views, Abby explained how she had previously known the guy before matching with him on Tinder.

She said: “It was not my first time meeting him. I had been to his house before and I felt safe going there.”

When Abby arrived, she claims no other cars were there — but moments later, she was surrounded by police vehicles.

She continued: “I got really scared, especially when they ran up to his door and started calling him by his first name.”

But it turns out the police weren’t after Abby’s date — they were trying to get to the elderly man living in the apartment above him.

She explained: “He is a paramedic so he happened to know the first responders from working on scenes with them.”

“He owns his house and rents out the second floor. His tenant was an older guy who called 911 because he had passed out.”

As Abby watched, her date tried to figure out a way to get into the apartment as he didn’t have a key on hand.

She continued: “He scaled the side of the building, broke in through this guy’s kitchen window and administered CPR until the ambulances arrived. It was very heroic and sexy.”

What’s more, the pair still went out for their date — although Abby didn’t disclose it was on the same evening.

But despite his heroic display, she claims he still had a lot of “red flags” and they didn’t make it as a couple.

Needless to say, viewers were left stunned by the roller coaster of a story.

One replied: “He went from zero to hero!”

Another joked: “Plot twist – he did all this to impress you.”

Meanwhile, a third added: “Red… GREEN LIGHT.”
