Eugenie Bouchard was up for sharing this week during an Instagram “ask me anything” session, touching on her recovery from shoulder surgery, as well as her favorite “Succession” character.
The Canadian tennis player, 27, who underwent surgery in June, told her Instagram followers that she had been “scared beforehand” because she had “never been under” anesthesia.
“But everything went perfectly,” Bouchard explained. “However when I came to after the procedure I kinda freaked out and was super emotional lol.”
Bouchard tore her subscapularis in March during her first-round match at the Guadalajara Open. After trying “every form of conservative treatment and rehab known to man,” Bouchard revealed three months later that she elected to have arthroscopic surgery.
In a separate post, Bouchard told her Instagram followers this week that she also received “good news” in regards to the recovery progression.
Elsewhere, Bouchard — who is dating Steelers backup quarterback Mason Rudolph — revealed where she hopes to travel to in the near future.
“Hopefully Rome in May 2022!” Bouchard replied to a question about a possible return to Italy. “Last time I played Rome was 2016 can you believe it.”
She was also asked a question likely on everyone’s minds: who her favorite character on “Succession” is.
“Greg hahahahahaaha,” Bouchard shared on her Instagram Story, posting a series of images featuring Nicholas Braun’s Cousin Greg.
Given she’s a mega-fan of the HBO series, it’s likely she’ll be tuning in to Sunday’s Season 3 finale.
