Could a zombie apocalypse happen?

Popular media franchises like The Walking Dead and The Last Of Us have made zombies a hit again.

Although the undead creatures are fictional, people still believe a zombie apocalypse could happen.

There is no proof that a zombie apocalypse could be on the horizon but anything can happen.

Some illnesses mirror the traits of zombies, such as rabies and leprosy, which could mean we may end up having a “zombie” variant on our hands.

Scientists have researched whether there is a virus that could cause an apocalypse but none have had a breakthrough.

With the rapid spread of coronavirus, it does raise an eyebrow on how quick a ‘zombie’ virus would travel to create an apocalypse.

If theoretically, a zombie apocalypse was to happen, the containment would all depend on how the outbreak would have started.

Typically, in films and TV shows, zombies will bite people, turning them into one too.

That spread would be much easier to contain than a mutant virus.

How to survive a zombie apocalypse

Movies and TV shows have taught us the dos and the don’ts when it comes to a zombie apocalypse.

The most obvious first point is to stay away from any areas that are swarming with zombies.

If that’s unavoidable, find a safe place to hide.

Make sure supplies such as food and water are readily available.

If you need to move on to a new location, travel with a group so you’ll have more of a chance of defeating any zombies if they come your way.

Where in the world is the safest spot

Typically, bunkers are the best places to hide out during a zombie apocalypse.

If you want to be able to see daylight again, hop on a boat and travel out to a remote island to live out your day.

You’ve just got to hope the zombies don’t follow you there.

Prisons are always a good choice.

Plenty of room and places to hide if the zombies ever catch up to you.

Alcatraz is the perfect combination of island and prison.

Heading up somewhere high may seem like a good option but if you come into some trouble, there may end up being no way down.
