Tom Brady has a ‘little beef’ with Julian Edelman
What are Julian Edelman and Tom Brady “beefing” about?
The former Patriots wide receiver teased that he’s at odds with his longtime teammate, but wouldn’t explain why during a new episode of “Inside the NFL” on Paramount+, via CBS Boston.
“Nah, Tom hasn’t called me. And in fact, you know … we have a little beef right now,” said Edelman, who became an NFL analyst after retiring in April.
“We’ll leave it between us. But we have a beef right now. I can’t [share what it’s about.] I can’t kiss and tell! I can’t kiss and tell, like someone said.”
Edelman spent his entire 12-year NFL career playing alongside Brady in New England, where they won three Super Bowls together. Their closely documented bromance was a fan-favorite in Foxborough.
Edelman made the comments about his friendship with Brady when asked his thoughts about the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl chances.
“Nah, I don’t think they’re gonna repeat this year,” Edelman said. “I mean, I think the team is getting depleted right now.”
The Buccaneers are currently without top receivers Chris Godwin (for the season) and Mike Evans, as well as starting running back Leonard Fournette.
Edelman, who was named the MVP of Super Bowl 53, announced his retirement in a video posted to social media on April 12.
Brady, at the time, took to social media to reminisce on his days with his longtime receiver.
“On the biggest stage and in the biggest moments, you always came through,” Brady tweeted. “You never lost that chip on your shoulder and you never let anyone define you as a person or player. I’m proud of you Jules. Love you.”
Brady has yet to address Edelman’s comments. Though, the two have appeared friendly in recent months.
They traded jokes on social media in April, when Brady began cracking jokes about Edelman being a free agent.
The buzz led to Edelman shutting down speculation twice of a reunion with Brady.
