Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin had a nostalgic moment after Cincinnati beat the Chiefs in Sunday’s AFC Championship thriller.
The former LSU teammates recreated the photo they snapped in 2019, after the Tigers beat Alabama to win the national title.
Shelvin was pictured with Burrow hoisted up on his right shoulder on the field in Tuscaloosa celebrating the win.
They enjoyed a similar moment on the pro stage Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
The Bengals teammates were two of the nine Louisiana State alumni that played in Sunday’s championship round of the NFL playoffs.
The Bengals erased an 18-point first half deficit to punch a ticket to the Super Bowl 2022. It was the largest comeback in an AFC Championship game, tied with the Colts’ 2006 victory over the Patriots.
Burrow now has a chance to make history in the Feb. 13 game as the only quarterback to win the Heisman, a national title and a Super Bowl — all in a three-year span.
Burrow and Shelvin’s moment wasn’t the only photo op that went viral after Cincinnati beat the Chiefs, 27-24.
The quarterback and his and star receiver Ja’Marr Chase puffed on cigars in the locker room, and showed off their stogies on Instagram Live.
Soon after, the official LSU Twitter account shared a photo showing their fathers smoking cigars together.
