The Issue: Dominique Luzuriaga’s eulogy for her husband, Det. Jason Rivera, who was killed on duty.

I had tears running down my cheeks as I watched Det. Jason Rivera’s funeral (“A widow’s rage,” Jan. 29).

To all the district attorneys (especially New York’s Alvin Bragg) who have embraced criminal justice reform, please take your knee off the victim’s neck. Stop emboldening the criminals.

If Bragg disagrees with the current laws on the books, work with the Legislature to have them changed or repealed, but stop playing god with our good citizens’ lives.

Bragg, do your job, and if you cannot, get out of the way and resign so that our citizens in this great city can live with a semblance of feeling safe again.

Bragg: Did you get the message? The widow of Detective Rivera sent you a message while looking at her husbands casket. If you didn’t get it, then maybe it’s time for you to resign.

Bragg is deciding not to prosecute certain minor crime and rewrite the law according to his left-wing ideology.

His job is to follow the laws and prosecute offenders appropriately.

Officer Rivera’s widow’s courageous statement about the criminal-coddling DA Bragg was heart-wrenching.

This would be a good time to again address the actions of the New York Parole Board, which over the last few years has been responsible for the release of some of the most heinous cop killers this state has ever seen.

It also needs to be noted it’s the Legislature that makes the laws and they’ve been failing miserably over the years, especially since the Democrats became the majority there.

Gov. Hochul can remove the DA if he fails to follow the law. She can also remove Parole Board members. It’s up to the voters to remove the legislators who are responsible for many of the problems we all face.

On the worst day of her life, Dominique Luzuriaga was able to eloquently remind the world of a few things.

She reminded us of the extraordinary pressure that comes with being the wife of a police officer.

She also reminded our so-called “leaders” that their job is to protect the public and not score cheap political talking points for their next campaign. Well done.

I stopped everything just to witness and participate in my own way to remember and honor the sacrifice of Rivera.

Just seeing the unbelievable massive sea of blue made up of thousands of NYPD officers and New York citizens covering the roads and the sidewalks to show their respect for one of theirs. who sacrificed his life in order to protect the citizens of New York, was heartwarming.

I was emotionally spent after hearing Rivera’s brother eulogize his “TaTa.” Then came his widow, Dominique, to express her thoughts and the emotional upheaval in her life because of Rivera’s murder. I felt such pain for her and his family.

When the wife of Detective Rivera eulogized him during his funeral mass, she was well within her rights to take a verbal swipe at Bragg for his seemingly very lax policies on dealing with criminals in the city.

Bragg does not seem to understand that laws for criminals need to be made tougher, not relaxed.

Hopefully, Bragg is either going to toughen up or Gov. Hochul will say “bye bye” to him and his policies.

We cannot afford the loss of any more of our men and women in blue from the NYPD, the best one in the entire country.

On Friday, we laid to rest a husband, a father, a son and a brother.

He performed his duty, proudly wearing the badge of heroism and valor. May the good Lord keep you. Rest in peace, Officer Rivera.
