Saints’ Alvin Kamara arrested for battery in Las Vegas after playing in Pro Bowl
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was arrested for battery resulting in substantial bodily harm — a felony — by Las Vegas police Sunday following the NFL Pro Bowl.
According to a statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the victim, who was not identified, reported the assault while receiving treatment at a Las Vegas hospital late Saturday afternoon. The incident allegedly occurred at a nightclub in the area, according to the statement.
Officers were dispatched to the hospital, where they determined Kamara was the suspect. However, Kamara participated in the Pro Bowl on Sunday and recorded four catches for 23 yards.
Kamara remained in jail Sunday night with his bail set at $5,000 and a court hearing is scheduled for Monday afternoon, a jail official told the AP.
The Saints have yet to comment on the incident.
The 26-year-old Kamara just completed his fifth season with the team, recording 898 rushing yards and 439 receiving yards. He’s made the Pro Bowl every year of his career, and was NFL Rookie of the Year in 2017. He signed a five-year, $75 million contract extension in 2020.
