Patrick Mahomes, Brittany Matthews spent ‘too many’ days in Vegas
Brittany Matthews and Patrick Mahomes are saying goodbye to Las Vegas after a week-long getaway.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the fiancée of the Chiefs quarterback posted a cozy photo of the couple days after Mahomes helped lead the AFC to its fifth straight win in this year’s Pro Bowl.
“1 week in Vegas, is 5 days too many, but it was fun,” Matthews captioned the snap.
Throughout the week, Matthews — who has been engaged to Mahomes since September 2020 — shared posts on social media of the pair’s Vegas escapades, which included a pit stop at the NHL All-Star Game with pals Travis Kelce and Kayla Nicole, the girlfriend of the Chiefs tight end. The “OPIUM” show at The Cosmopolitan was also said to be on Mahomes’ radar.
Matthews also took in Sunday’s Pro Bowl with Mahomes’ family, as well as the couple’s baby girl Sterling, who turns a year old this month. During the broadcast, Mahomes told ESPN that he’s still coming to terms with the Chiefs’ loss to the Bengals in the AFC Championship.

“I’m still not over it,” the 26-year-old quarterback said. “I don’t think I’ll be over it until we’re playing in another Super Bowl. So I’ll use that as motivation going forward.”
The Chiefs held a 21-3 lead over the Bengals, which soon evaporated as the game went into overtime. Cincinnati’s rookie kicker Evan McPherson, who has had a dominant playoff run, nailed a 31-yard field-goal to send the Bengals to Super Bowl 2022.
Matthews, whose game-day actions have been the talk of social media as of late, then congratulated the Chiefs on Twitter over their impressive season.
“Still an amazing season & so much to be proud of!” Matthews tweeted.
Although Mahomes won’t be getting a Super Bowl ring this year, he will be adding new hardware in the form of a wedding band when he and Matthews tie the knot.
