There’s this YouTube clip of the great singer-songwriter Johnny Rivers introducing his song “Summer Rain” at a festival in San Diego in 2014, In the video, he talks about how the song debuted at the time of the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967.
Rivers then asks how many in the audience remember Monterey Pop and when a handful of folks applaud in shared recognition, the singer softly chuckles and says, “You liars.”
In that same spirit, I am now asking how many subscribers to Sports+ and this newsletter believed in early October that the Rangers would have a record of 36-15-5 at this stage of the season?
