A UK driver who was arrested for reckless driving had officers in stitches after producing a license from Legoland.
“The driver was pursued from #Bexley to #IsleOfSheppey and arrested for a multitude of offenses last week,” according to a tweet by the Kent Police RPU, which apprehended the 21-year-old motorist in February following an epic chase.
The fiasco began after officers attempted to pull over an Audi A7 they had observed maneuvering recklessly all over the road near Bexley, SWNS reported. However, the driver refused, resulting in a 35-mile chase that took them from Southeast London to Kent. They were even forced call in a police helicopter to aid with the pursuit.
Eventually, the pursuing officers caught up with the knucklehead in Minster, Kent, after he ran out of gas, whereupon they found a large stash of marijuana in his car.
And that was only the tip of the iceberg.
When the officers asked the Sheerness native for his documentation, he brandished a fake license he’d received from a Legoland in Windsor as a kid in 2003.
The award is gifted to children who pass the theme park’s driving test, which entails using a brick-built electric car to navigate “traffic lights, roundabouts, Lego policemen and even a speed camera,” per the site.
The cops joked in the tweet that the “the #LegoLand license was not the reason for the drivers dangerous driving, the large amount of cannabis was.” Along with not having a bona fide drivers license, the Lego maniac also lacked insurance.
The miscreant was subsequently “arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, possession of a class B drug, driving with no insurance and driving with no [license,]” per a police spokesperson.
He has reportedly been released on bail until Sept. 1.
