Best April Fools’ Day pranks: Fake pregnancy, gross donut shocker, more

It’s Christmas for the prankster community today.

Creativity is all around this April Fools’ Day as wisecrackers, both professional and amateur, have wasted no time in sharing their annual antics — including some that quickly backfired and others that jabbed at politics — that are sure to bring both pleasure and pain in a tradition as old as time.

Some have manipulated tasty desserts to yield a harshly unpleasant surprise, while others have brought the more classic, Saran Wrap-and-tape gags back into style this spring.

Of course, others have found clever ways to trick their colleagues while working remotely as well.

These are some of the best, boldest and baffling April Fools’ Day pranks of 2022 so far.

You are NOT the father

One girlfriend’s fake pregnancy getup went south big time.

A Brazilian model named Sabrina Low quickly spoiled a fancy dinner with her boo of six months after pulling out her phone between courses and showing him a positive pregnancy test photo, Jam Press reported.

“Congratulations, daddy,” Low said.

But the reaction she reportedly got from the unnamed man was neither sweet nor shocking. Right away he offered her $50,000 to abort the phantom child, according to the outlet.

“When I showed him the picture of me on my smartphone holding a pregnancy test, he was just unresponsive,” Low said. “He didn’t even ask any details – he just wanted it gone and offered me the $50,000.”

What happened next is no joke: Low dumped the bum and the two “don’t speak anymore,” she admitted.

“I was just so sad that was his reaction,” she added. “I ended it straight away.”

Hunter Biden sells NFTs shirtless on the beach

Hunter Biden is the subject of a comical April Fools’ Day gag this year.

Is it even April Fools’ Day without some satirical news?

Hyperallergic put together a knee-slapping article about Hunter Biden taking to California’s Venice Beach, selling NFTs “to raise funds for a new laptop.”

“Arranged on the blanket were several SpongeBob Squarepants memes, printed on paper earlier in the day at a local FedEx Kinko’s,” the article reads of the president’s son.

“When asked to define what an NFT is, Biden gnashed his veneers for a few minutes, before stressing his record of honest business dealings and clarifying that the real NFTs were ‘in the cloud,’ while gesturing vaguely at the clouds overhead.”

Do-it-yourself pranks

Brussels sprouts pops

In legal jargon, these would fall under the category of cruel and unusual punishment.

An artisan baker based out of Tampa, Florida, (@DippedTampa) shared a do it yourself recipe on how to fool someone into eating a cake pop that’s actually made of some crunchy Brussels sprouts.

After getting the mini cabbage onto a plastic stick, simply dip it into icing, slide then stick through a mini ice-cream cone (sprinkles preferred), do a little more razzle-dazzle to the top, and then behold the suffering you’ve brought upon an innocent human being.

Cooking oil for soap

There is a beauty that comes with simplicity. Reddit user Orobas55 posted a photo of a Palmolive soap bottle he replaced with cooking oil early this morning.

“I’m going to leave it in a friend’s bathroom.”

Parental guidance

Who says parents can’t get in on the April Fools’ fun? Redditor MadMac619 went old school this year by Saran Wrapping his children’s bedroom door closed. Can’t blame them if they were late for school Friday.

No snack for you!

It seems that parents are game for a prank war this time around. User aJuicyNut posted a picture of reverse-taping each yummy snack from their kid’s Lunchables box so that it will stick to their hands — all before repacking it in the box like nothing happened.

The adhesive prank is sure to make somebody late for recess.

Slacking off on the job

Looking to have an early Friday? This gimmick from Reddit user LittleLittleG will have you hiding in plain sight on the job. They fluently changed their Slack name and image to mirror the instant messaging service’s “Slack Bot” feature. On top of that, LittleLittleG even set themselves as “away” to avoid notifications.

“Can’t wait to trick everyone!” they wrote.

The devil is where we least think to look

A Reddit user came up with the cruel idea of coating doughnuts with both hot sauce and mayonnaise. thebestererrr-mA/reddit

Some people really just want to watch the world burn. Today, an unfortunate workplace will be subjected to donuts that have been injected with either Sriracha hot sauce or mayonnaise — instead of jelly or cream filling — at the hands of Redditor thebestererrr-mA.

“My coworkers are not gonna be expecting a damn thing! I’ve been plotting this for months,” the culprit wrote of their dastardly — and likely not-so-delicious — deed.
