One item Tom Thibodeau can’t complain about during this failed season is the officiating. The Knicks rank second in the NBA with 24.4 free-throw attempts per game.

But one of the unsung factors in the Knicks’ stunning demise in “Thibodeau: Year 2” is wretched free-throw shooting. You don’t need a doctorate in Statistics and Data Analytics to understand shooting a slew of free throws isn’t much use if you don’t make them.

The Knicks’ free-throw percentage is 74.3, down from last season’s 78.6. They rank 26th in the league in the category after running last two weeks ago.
