Joe Douglas has turned the Jets roster around pretty remarkably over the past year. While the record with Douglas as GM is a rough 13-36, this team seems to be turning a corner. On paper, this team looks like it can at least be in the hunt for a playoff spot, which was a pipe dream the past few years. The rebuild is being done right.
On a special edition of the “Gang’s All Here” podcast with Brian Costello and me, we were joined by Douglas. He chats with us about their draft picks, Zach Wilson, the future of the team and more.
Joe Douglas Interview with Jake & Coz
Jets General Manager
- DRAFT PICKS: Was like Christmas morning getting the gift you didn’t expect coming when they got Jermaine Johnson. Perfect scenario was Sauce Gardner being there with the No. 4 pick.
- WR: Feels good where they are with wide receivers. Denzel Mims has put a lot of work in the offseason and has come back with a fire.
- ZACH WILSON: Feels good about where Zach is and that he is their guy. They have put pieces around him where he doesn’t need to carry the team.
- $$$: Credits those around him for setting team up in a good financial spot with the cap space.
