Two wounded in overnight Brooklyn shootings, police say
A woman and a man were hurt in separate shootings as gunfire broke out in Brooklyn late Thursday, police said.
The woman, 34, was shot once in the leg on Nostrand Avenue near St. Mark’s Avenue in Crown Heights around 8:15 p.m., authorities said.
The shooter got out of a white car and began firing in her direction as she stood in a crowd, according to cops. The driver then fled along Nostrand Avenue.
The woman was taken to the Kings County Hospital Center in stable condition, according to police. It was not immediately clear whether she was the intended target.
About 45 minutes later, a 23-year-old man was grazed in the nose during a shooting on Hornell Loop in Starrett City, authorities said.
He was also listed in stable condition, police said.
The circumstances leading up to that shooting are unclear, and cops could not confirm whether he was targeted.
The gunplay comes a day after a 20-year-old mom was shot dead while pushing her 3-month-old daughter in a stroller on the Upper East Side, and three other people were shot later Wednesday night.
