Innocent bystander struck when gunman fires at rival in NYC: cops
An innocent bystander was struck by a stray round when a gunman opened fire during a fight with a rival in East Harlem, cops said Friday.
The 61-year-old bystander was walking on Third Avenue near East 111th Street in East Harlem when shots rang out around 11:10 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
He was struck in the left leg and taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, cops said.Â
The intended target, a 27-year-old man, was involved in an argument with about six or seven people when the clash escalated and turned physical, police said.
One of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired multiple times at the victim, cops said.
He was struck in the forehead and the right leg, and taken to Mount Sinai Morningside, also in stable condition.Â
No arrests had been made by Friday, cops said, as they released a photo of a suspect.
