Man, 22, stabbed, slashed at Coney Island’s Luna Park: cops
A man was stabbed at Coney Island’s iconic Luna Park last weekend, police said Friday.Â
The 22-year-old victim was standing near the Thunderbolt roller coaster at the amusement park around 11:15 p.m. Saturday when about five people approached him, cops said.
One of the suspects displayed a knife and stabbed the victim in the left side of his back before slashing him in both arms and his stomach, police said.
The group fled after the attack, cops said.
The victim was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was listed in stable condition.
The motive for the assault was unclear Friday.
Footage released by the NYPD shows one of the suspects apparently standing on line for the ride wearing a gray Tommy Hilfiger hoodie, dark blue sweatpants, a dark blue du-rag and carrying a black bag slung over his shoulder.
Reps for Luna Park later denied to The Post that the stabbing occurred on their premises.
The attack comes amid a citywide uptick in stabbings.
