Timberwolves’ Taurean Prince arrest stems from ‘dangerous drugs’ incident
Minnesota Timberwolves’ Taurean Prince is being held on no bond due to a charge involving “dangerous drugs,” following an arrest in Miami on Thursday night, according to police documents, via TMZ.
Prince, 28, was booked at 7:51 PM due to an outstanding warrant stemming from an alleged drug-related incident in Texas, a police spokesperson said.
The NBA player is still in custody, according to police records.
The Timberwolves said in a statement that team officials are “aware of the alleged report regarding Taurean Prince and are in the process of gathering more information.”
Prince and the Timberwolves agreed to bring back the reserve forward on a two-year, $16 million contract extension in June.
The former first-round pick — who averaged 7.3 points on 45.4% shooting last year — played for the Nets and Cavaliers last season.
